Senior Accountant

OVERVIEW:

 

Lead in month end closing activities and year end closing for Wisconsin plants.  Wisconsin lead with the year-end financial audit and bank audits.  Responsible for preparing and analyzing more complex account reconciliations.  Maintain, reconcile and review monthly financial statements.  Assist financial leadership in high level analysis.  Must be able to manage competing priorities.  Complete special projects assigned by management.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Prepare monthly journal entries, complete general ledger reconciliations to support month end closing processes for various entities.  This includes close coordination with plant controllers, accountants, and finance partners.

  • Perform account reconciliations and analysis, including the ability to identify, research and correct discrepancies.
  • Review Wisconsin financial statements - balance sheet, income statement and cash flow.
  • Integral team lead in facilitating an accurate and timely completion of month end and year end reporting.
  • Support the annual external audits by taking a lead for the Wisconsin financials by providing coordination before and during the audit, ensuring supporting schedules and necessary documentation are prepared and uploaded in a timely basis.
  • Oversee the management of fixed assets including Construction in Process for WI and a liaison for Mexico.
  • Review, analyze and discern whether the support for addback expenses is sufficient and acceptable to the credit agreement
  • Wisconsin financial leader/representative for accounting related projects
  • Provide oversight to business groups Mexico financials
  • Financial liaison support for Plant Controller
  • Assists Finance with AOP to Actual Variance
  • Super-user for Oracle General Ledger
  • Research, recommend and assist in the implementation of ongoing process improvements to financial reporting and controls.
  • Assist Director of Accounting with audit related issues and projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Must possess analytical and problem solving skills.

Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently.

Must be accurate and detail oriented.

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:

Accounting software, Windows based spreadsheets/word processing and PowerPoint packages.   Ability to use various company software packages

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting plus five plus years of audit/or related corporate experience. CPA, preferred.
