Quality Manager

OVERVIEW:

The act of overseeing/leading all activities and tasks needed to maintain a desired level of excellence. This includes creating and implementing quality planning and assurance, as well as quality control and quality improvement.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Collect, organize, monitor, and report on information related to the functions of the Quality Assurance department.
  • Interact with both customer and company personnel on all levels regarding quality related issues
  • Establish and maintain continuity of quality related programs and/or issues between all departments and all shifts.
  • Assist in the issuing, coordinating, and processing of Return Authorizations and Material Rejections.
  • Continuously review quality processes for improvement.
  • Maintain plant and company quality standards – PPM goals
  • ISO-9000 development
  • Maintain calibration program throughout plant
  • Maintain welding procedure
  • Establish production Quality Plans and set In-Process and Final Inspection hold points
  • Schedule and assist in customer inspections
  • Train personnel on quality processes and procedures
  • Maintain Plant and Corporate PQC events during year
  • Ensure plant meets ITAR requirement/documentation
  • Ensure process documentation is maintained and controlled
  • Collaborate with other management team members to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure customer quality requirements are met.

Qualifications/requirements:

  • 3-5 years manufacturing and supervisory experience.
  • Experience using Statistical Software
  • Proficient with Microsoft tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in engineering or quality discipline.
  • Strong computer skills - including familiarity with MS Office products.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing ERP systems
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality Standard.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize a busy workload
  • Understanding of management systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiar with Kaizen Methodology
